# Ken Recorder: Recording, Captions, and Audio Editing

Ken Recorder is a local-first recording workspace for iPhone and iPad, published by CyberKen. It connects five recording modes, live captions and translation, audio editing, structured notes, and flexible exports.

## Official product facts

- Platforms: iOS and iPadOS.
- Five recording modes plus audio or video import and compatible external inputs.
- On-device captions can run offline on iOS 26 or later; local translation depends on device and downloaded language resources.
- Core recording, playback, editing, local noise reduction, format conversion, and OCR can run without an account or network connection.
- Recordings and results remain on the current device by default; the recording library does not currently sync across devices.

## On-device and cloud AI boundary

- Cloud captions, file transcription, structured notes, stem separation, TTS, authorized voice cloning, cloud OCR, and AI text or report tools run only after the user starts them.
- Cloud tasks require sign-in, network access, and applicable Credits; an estimate is shown before a supported task starts.
- AI-generated results may contain errors and should be reviewed before use or sharing.

## Formats and limitations

- Audio export: M4A, WAV, CAF, AIFF, and FLAC.
- The conversion toolbox supports M4A, WAV, AIFF, and FLAC output. MP3 can be imported, played, and edited, but is not a local output format.
- Ken Recorder does not provide telephone call recording. System audio capture depends on ReplayKit, DRM, the source app, and lock-screen behavior.

## Public release status

Ken Recorder has been released on the App Store. Apple storefront availability is still propagating, so the public product page may not yet appear in every region. The website does not yet claim a public version, price, rating, or review count.
